About This Design
The lighting design shows the progression of the seasons and The Spitfire Grill through color, texture, and angle. As the seasons go from dreary winter to vibrant fall, the Grill also comes alive; going from dingy green, sharp breakups, and harsh angles to warm ambers, fuzzy texture, and fuller fills. During the songs where Percy, Shelby, and Joe are dreaming about their futures, the lighting takes the audience into their hopeful imagination that calls ahead to finale of the show.
